(ATLANTA)— Congressional candidate Liz Carter is proud to announce that she has received the endorsement of a prominent physician’s group in her campaign for Georgia’s 4th Congressional District.
Doctors For Patients PAC, the political action committee of the national physician’s group, Docs4PatientCare, formally notified Carter of their endorsement.
Carter received Docs4PatientCare’s support because of her stand against the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The group lauded Carter’s efforts to repeal and replace the recently enacted health reform bill with a market-based policy that will preserve the doctor-patient relationship and protect patient choice.
“We need experienced and outspoken business leaders in the United States House of Representatives who understand what truly drives America forward: leadership, creativity, and freedom. The last thing patients need is a giant federal medical bureaucracy stifling innovative care,” said Dr. Richard Armstrong, Chairman, Doctors For Patients PAC.
“Our people want health reform that will work, not federal mandates,“ Carter said. Reform is a priority for this Congressional district, and Carter believes there is growing momentum to see the measures repealed.
“The real tragedy of the federal health reform law is that there are commonsense approaches to fixing health care that are completely ignored by the bill that Hank Johnson voted for,” Carter said. “Why not address runaway health care prices instead of forcing working families to purchase insurance? Americans do not want the IRS involved in their medical decisions and we want to see the annual fraud of $150 BILLION addressed.”
When elected to Congress, Carter vows to promote legislation that will place control of medical decisions where it belongs, with the patient and their physician. Carter concluded: “Congress should allow a nation-wide market for insurance, promote price transparency, and extend an income tax-credit to those who purchase insurance directly, just like companies who purchase health benefits for their employees.”

(Atlanta) - Representative “Hank” Johnson wanders off script when introducing the Honorable James Oberstar at the 25th anniversary celebration and community improvement district recognition Monday the 16th.
“I am certain that the people of Georgia and specifically District 4, do not believe Congressman Oberstar or the people of Minnesota are psychotic. It’s clear that Hank wandered off of his written speech to introduce the Honorable James Oberstar.” states Liz Carter, Congressional Nominee for Georgia District 4. “He seemed fine, until I saw him stop reading his speech and start fumbling down the wrong path. His remarks are inappropriate and once again he’s embarrassed me, a resident of District 4.”

Immigration reform is important and must be handled correctly. There are no easy answers, but Congress must act and act appropriately.
First and foremost, we must secure all our borders. This is a matter of national security.
Legal immigration should be the only option. Fix the legal immigration process, which includes work visas for temporary, seasonal, agricultural and other industries.
“Illegal” immigrants need to leave and apply in their home country.
Employers need a timely, secure and accurate employee verification system.
The Federal Government must enforce and enhance employer penalties.
States need to push and implement 287g programs.
Yesterday, I met with a member of the Coalition Against Illegal Immigration and I was shocked to hear that Hank claims that I am in support of amnesty. Hank, I am NOT for amnesty, you are not telling the truth.
Immigration reform is important. Hank has received an “F” rating in reform and securing our borders. However, I have received the “true reformer” rating. If you would like to see the report, click here.
The choice is very clear this November:
a) If you care more about securing our borders, protecting jobs, and enforcing our immigration laws…then vote for Liz.
b) If the Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid “status quo” is okay by you… and you don’t care about line “a)” above, then vote for Hank.
We have more in common than we have uncommon. Fight for our values, for the next generation and stand strong. Stand as One Community, One State and One Nation. Elect those who have the desire to serve and represent the people with honor. Don’t vote party politics.
Do you support…
The $800 Billion stimulus financed by borrowing?
Hank voted Yes Liz says No.
“Since the stimulus was passed Georgia has lost over 124,000 jobs and the unemployment rate has risen from 8.7% to 10%.” (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 7/26/10)
Cap and trade?
Hank says Yes. Liz says No.
“The cost per American household would be an extra $1,761 a year.” (U.S. Department of Treasury, CBS Report 9/23/09)
Tax dollars paying for abortion?
Hank says Yes. Liz says No.
“Hank voted No on H Amdt 509 to prevent federally funded abortion services on 11/07/09″
Eliminating secret ballot in union elections?
Hank says Yes. Liz says No.
“By forcing workers to sign a card in public–instead of vote in private–Card Check opens the door to intimidation and coercion”
FairTax?
Hank says No. Liz says Yes.
“The FairTax has the broadest base and the lowest rate of any single-rate tax reform plan and provides for higher disposable personal income than the current tax system.”
Ethics and transparency in government?
Hank says No. Liz says Yes.
“Hank co-sponsored H. RES 1416, (a.k.a. ethics neuter bill) a bill to amend the rules on public disclosure of congressional ethics investigations. (05/28/10)
Support and vote beyond party.
Vote for the person you have the most in common.
I won’t let you down.
I must admit that I fell prey to relying on a final summary of the H.R. 4899 legislation after having read a prior version of the legislation. This illustrates why it is direly important why a congressman should read every line of every bill that they will cast a vote on.
Even if Congressman Johnson does not explain why he voted against supporting our troops who are still in country as well as support for our vets back here at home. Representative Johnson also voted against disaster recovery funds for families devastated by the floods of March through May of this year. He also voted against economic development programs for the crippled areas along the coast.
Where I did claim that Congressman Johnson did not support first responders, teachers, vets, and the troops, he clearly from the above has shown disrespect to the American people, our vets and troops. Even more clear Rep Johnson lost the support of first responders, evident by the Fraternal Order of Police and Sherriff Butch Conway’s endorsements of my bid for congress when both had previously supported his last two bids. This is due to continued neglect of first responders over his tenure in office.
Congressman Johnson still doesn’t get it.
When I heard the radio reports about Hank Johnson, I checked up on GA 4. It was quite entertaining! I wondered what planet the district was on, and thought that it sure would be good for GA and even those of us on Guam, to have some representation that somehow approaches reality. Upon investigation, I found that Liz Carter really hits the spot! That is when I sent my contribution, and I am now sending another.
Those of us on Guam have an interest in staying upright and high and dry. Liz Carter will go a long way to help GA 4 and Guam!
I was impressed that you noticed the origin of my contribution. Bodes well for your campaign.
Sincerely, Captain Michael Roberts (Mike)
You too can contribute today! Help return dignity, representation and honor to District 4 – at the same time, you’ll be helping Guam!
Rep Hank Johnson Rejects Vital Support and Calls For Vital Support
(Atlanta) – According to the vote cast by Congressman Hank Johnson on the 27th of July, there is no need at this time to support our first responders, teachers, vets and troops. HR 4899 was one of the first pieces of legislation in quite some time to pass with bi-partisan majority support, but Rep. Johnson voted No.
This legislation, which was signed into law on the 29th of July, provides $24 Billion to help keep teachers, police, and firefighters employed during the recession. In addition it provides $34.7 Billion to support US troops, $13 Billion to Vietnam War veterans that have been exposed to Agent Orange, $2.8 billion for Haiti relief, $5.7 billion for PELL grants, $677 million to strengthen the border, $275 million for the Gulf oil spill, and $725 million to offset other needs.
“Who in their right mind would vote no on this critical piece of legislation?” questioned Liz Carter, the Republican nominee for Georgia’s 4th district House of Representatives. “Congressman Johnson’s refusal to support this bi-partisan legislation only serves to show how out of touch he is with the 4th district. His No vote shows he does not support our first responders, teachers, vets and troops.”
When Pelosi calls, Rep Johnson jumps. New legislation is now being voted on for additional funding for schools and public agencies, before funds from HR 4899 can reach its intended recipients. In an article written by Bob Keefe on August 4, 2010 in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Pelosi and Johnson are quoted as follows -
“The House will act quickly to approve this legislation once the Senate votes,” Pelosi said in a statement.
Even though Perdue exempted k-12 schools from the budget cuts, colleges weren’t exempted. Rep. Hank Johnson of Lithonia said the House needs to pass the legislation to save badly needed jobs in schools and public agencies in Georgia and nationwide.
“It’s important for us to consider this measure next week, which will save about 140,000 teaching jobs — more than 4,000 in Georgia — and tens of thousands of first responders’ jobs,” said Johnson, a Democrat.
“We must get beyond party politics and look at what is best for the people. Rep Johnson continues to claim he cares about the community, yet he votes No for vital support and then flip-flops for Pelosi and asks for additional moneys for schools, trying to pretend that he cares and won’t get caught for his previous vote. Earlier in the campaign he touted voting No on TARP, but then voted yes on spending the returned money.” stated Carter. “You can’t have it both ways and believe your constituents trust you with the future of their children.”
(Atlanta) – The Annual Disabled American Veterans National Convention is being held in Atlanta July 31 – Aug 3. The organization, now in its 90th year of service representing America’s disabled veterans, will host President Obama on Monday, August 2nd.
“I applaud President Obama for coming to speak to this organization that does so much good on behalf of our disabled vets and their families,” stated Carter, the Republican nominee for Georgia’s 4th district House of Representatives. “Our wounded warriors are very deserving of our appreciation and gratitude.”
Carter, whose father was a WWII veteran, sits on the advisory board of Operation Homefront and is a member of the Women’s VFW Auxiliary. “Our veterans have made enormous sacrifices and our troops continue to do so around the world. I’m pleased that the President is attending the convention to honor their service.”
Carter also expressed her hope that, “…this visit will help remind those in Congress of the importance of addressing the needs of our veterans and treating our military with the utmost respect.”
While in Georgia, President Obama will also be fundraising for the Democrat National Committee. When asked about the president’s fundraising appearance Carter commented, “I’m sure President Obama is very aware of how vulnerable certain Georgia seats are in this November’s election.”
