ATL Tea Party Patriot Founder and Organizer Endorse Carter

(Atlanta)— A founding member and a key spokesperson and organizer of the Atlanta Tea Party movement have announced their support for Republican Liz Carter for Congress.

Debbie Dooley and Julianne Thompson, co-founder and co-organizer respectively of the Atlanta Tea Party Patriots, have endorsed Carter’s bid to replace Democrat Hank Johnson in the 4th Congressional District.

Dooley and Thompson both noted Carter’s long-standing support for the Tea Party principles of a Constitutionally limited federal government as well as enhancing fiscal responsibility at all levels of government.

“Liz has been a trusted ally of the Tea Party – a group that represents all political parties,” Thompson said. “Liz knows this year is not the year of the party, but the year of the people.”

Dooley further noted Carter’s qualification as a business leader with a firm understanding of free-market principles.

“Liz is the candidate who best embodies the spirit of the Tea Party,” Dooley said. “Liz has the experience, business acumen, and she understands that the government that governs least, governs best.”

Carter thanked Dooley and Thompson for their support, and she stated her continued commitment to protecting and expanding the values prized by the Tea Party Patriots.

“Now more than ever, our Congressional leaders must embrace a conservative dedication to limiting the size and scope of government,” Carter said. “I am campaigning for the opportunity to do just that by standing up against Washington’s big-spending, liberal elitists.”

This endorsement adds to the many that demonstrate Liz’s ability to Yank Hank from Congress and her commitment to serve the people of District 4. Her other endorsements include the DeKalb Fraternal Order of Police, the Republicans of Morehouse College, Gwinnett Sherriff Butch Conway, Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson, State Representative Mike Jacobs, RedState and many others.

Distractions

Don’t let what happened in the Gulf distract from the bigger picture. In Washington, even well intentioned programs come wrapped up with higher taxes and fees. The special interest groups are pushing for a national energy tax, otherwise known as cap and trade. I call it – Cap and Tax. Washington wants to increase red tape, regulation and TAXES. The fact is, cap and trade will hurt the lower and middle working classes the most.

Don’t let the noise surrounding the Arizona Immigration Law distract from the bigger picture. Individuals in Washington are pushing to provide Amnesty to millions of illegals without a vote in Congress. The fact is amnesty did not fix the issues when granted under the Reagan Administration and it will negatively impact each and every one of us. Amnesty is not a civil rights issue – it is an issue that impacts jobs, education, health care, and nearly every aspect of our economy. We must first secure our borders and then address a multi-faceted immigration policy.

Last week Congressman Johnson stood on the House floor and asked his colleagues to pass the Disclose Act specifically to keep Republicans from being elected. I was a bit shocked to hear an elected official ask to pass legislation for the reason of targeting another political party, especially when he himself is funding his campaign with big business dollars. There are several distraction tactics going on and individuals attempting to sway you from the real issues facing our nation and the real candidates who can build consensus to fix what has been wronged. Don’t get distracted.

I ask you to join me and help return the Federal Government to what it was meant to be – Infrastructure of Success for the Private Sector. Send me to Washington to end earmarks and get spending under control. Send me to create efficiencies to reduce spending and reduce the deficit.

Pro-Life

It has been brought to my attention that because I respectfully declined the Georgia Right to Life certification/endorsement, that some have questioned my pro-life stance. While I appreciate the work Georgia Right to Life has done in the advocacy of the unborn, I find some of their messaging polarizing.

An organization does not deem a candidate “pro-life,” one’s character, faith and values are the determining factors.

I am pro-life.
