RedState endorsement!

Liz Carter for Congress – Liz receives RedState endorsement on April 28th

With President Obama’s recent endorsement of Representative Hank “Guam may tip over and capsize” Johnson, it is clear that the incumbent is increasingly out of step with the changes taking place in his District and State. For the first time in nearly two decades Georgia’s District 4, which was previously home to Rep. Cynthia McKinney, currently the home for the great sport of island tipping, finally has a viable, conservative contender:
Liz Carter.

Liz is neither a politician nor an attorney. She’s a concerned citizen and small business owner with over 18 years of real executive experience. She’s managed multi-million dollar budgets and sat at board tables making tough decisions. I don’t know about you, but right now I think Washington could do with the business sense and sensibilities of more small-business owners and fewer Island Density Investigation & Optimal Tipping-point researchers.

Carter’s vision of fiscal sanity includes a balanced budget, smaller government and capsizing special interests. She knows we need free market solutions to the unemployment crisis. Carter believes it’s the role of government “to create an infrastructure promoting success and empowerment, not entitlement.” Her opponent believes the army might flip Guam upside down.

And here’s another thing. Carter was compelled to run for Congress after hearing Rep Johnson’s remarks on Joe Wilson’s “you lie!” Johnson said that if Wilson’s comments went uncensured that people would be putting on “white hoods and white uniforms, riding through the countryside …” Yes. Really. What do you think Georgia? Does that represent your opinion?

Liz Carter knows this is an uphill battle, but it’s one worth fighting, and it’s one I want to help her fight: “This election is not about party, it’s about the people. We will change the perception of District 4 across this nation and bring true representation to its constituents.” Amen to that.

Donate to Liz Carter here.

Therefore, we, the undersigned Redstate contributors, endorse Liz Carter in her bid to capsize Hank Johnson. Help us do what Redstaters do best: change the game. We did it for Marco Rubio. Let’s do it for Liz Carter as well!

Mayor Bucky Johnson told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday that he chose Carter over the other candidates because of her understanding of local government and her business background.

“I like her energy,” he said. “She has a good understanding of the workings of the cities and counties and a great spirit of cooperation.”

Carter, a business consultant, is running against U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, who is seeking a third term. In addition to Johnson, former DeKalb CEO Vernon Jones and DeKalb Commissioner Connie Stokes are running of the Democratic ticket. Carter Receives Endorsement From Mayor Bucky Johnson of Norcross

Mayor Johnson recognizes Liz Carter’s business experience and commitment to job creation as an asset to the City of Norcross

(NORCROSS)— Mayor Bucky Johnson today announced his endorsement for leading Republican Congressional candidate Liz Carter in the House District 4 race.

Johnson endorsed Carter because of her interest in Norcross and her understanding and support of small businesses and the jobs they create. Additionally, Carter and Johnson agree that a comprehensive transportation plan would further spur economic growth in the district.

“Liz Carter is the candidate who will best serve the people of Norcross,” Johnson said, “She’s very concerned with bringing jobs to the community and is eager to work with local government.”

Johnson added, “The lynchpin for me was that Ms. Carter knows small business first-hand, having owned her own, and she recognizes that 70% of jobs are created by small businesses. Norcross is home to many small business and we hope to have more.”

Carter expressed her appreciation for Johnson’s support and praised the work the Mayor and his team have done to revitalize the community, including Historic Norcross.

“Norcross is a thriving community that has been blatantly ignored by the incumbent,” Carter said. “Not only is Norcross a great place to live and work, but the new Lillian Webb Park in the Historic District also makes it a wonderful place to play. Mayor Johnson has demonstrated his commitment to the people and businesses of Norcross and the city deserves a Congressional Representative who shares that commitment. I look forward to working with Mayor Johnson on his continued economic improvement efforts. ”

What 21st Century American Governing Needs

With all the current challenges that face the folks of the 4th congressional district, and America, Liz Carter is the person with the resolve to face them honestly and successfully.  Liz Carter will take her private sector experience to Washington and replace the expensive and outdated ways of that town by utilizing her technology background and empowering the citizens of her district.  Her vision for improved communication of those policies passed in Washington but that directly effect her district’s people and business – especially the small business – will reduce the cost of government and remove layers of bureaucracy that currently burden the process.

More private sector skills and efficiency … isn’t that exactly what 21st Century American governing needs right now?  Vote Liz Carter for US House of Representatives for Georgia’s 4th District.

ConservativeCongress.com Endorses Liz Carter

Organization praises Carter’s stands on fiscal responsibility and federalism

(Atlanta)—Republican Congressional candidate Liz Carter today has received an important national endorsement from ConservativeCongress.com.

“In these difficult and important times, the voters in Georgia’s District 4 are lucky to have a common-sense, conservative candidate like Liz Carter,” said Nick Brown, chairman of the organization. “ConservativeCongress.com was pleased to promote Carter based on her stance on fiscal responsibility, sending decision making back to the states, and taking a stand for conservative family values.  It is candidates like Liz Carter that will bring true conservatism back to Congress.”

The organization, founded in 2009, is designed to hold accountable candidates and elected officials that espoused conservative views but were not acting on or voting those views once elected.

“Those representing us in Congress as ‘conservatives’ had become loose spenders of our money, had become curious about health care policy, did not seem to take energy solutions, out of control taxation, or personal responsibility as seriously as they had once claimed.  When this occurs, it is time for American conservatives to pay close attention to those who represent them.  And if they no longer espouse the values that they once claimed to uphold, their time in Washington, D.C. should come to a close.”

“I am proud to have received the endorsement of ConservativeCongress.com,” said Liz Carter. “Their stand on holding people accountable is a cornerstone of my campaign. They are joining with hundreds and thousands of others both in Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District and around the nation that want to see some common sense re-introduced to our nation’s Capitol. People are getting the message that its time to ‘Yank Hank’ out of Congress.”

Not Politics as Usual

BY MICHAEL JAMES KOLTER

In these times of economic despair,
A new candidate for congress appeared from nowhere.
The more I learned from her the more I understood,
That this was the candidate that would do the most good.

She supports the constitution of these United States,
I think she would be excellent in any debates.
She will listen to the voices of her constituents she hears,
And will respond promptly loud and clear.

It appears she will support the fair tax,
Which would save us all from liberal act.
Another of her concerns is reducing our dependence on foreign oil,
By finding it here in America on our own soil.

As a business leader and a mother she is both,
Also she would support job growth.
She loves her family her country and God,
These are the reasons she gets my nod.

She is a firm supporter of the 2ND amendment and an NRA member,
As a congresswoman she will stand up for our rights please remember.
I have never been more proud than I am now,
To support a politician in my district somehow.

So please vote for Liz Carter for congress in the 4TH district,
Because the current congressman Hank Johnson is the one we need to evict.
The bottom line is she is a whole lot smarter,
These are the reasons we need to vote for Liz Carter!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all 4 of our Republican candidates for participating in the first candidate’s forum at the Rockdale breakfast meeting this morning.  The answers given by the candidates go a long way in helping our Republican voters decide on who they will be voting for during the primary July 20th.

Liz Carter came out as the winner as reflected in our straw poll by rather a large margin.  The results are:

Voters’ Remorse and Version 2.0 Candidates

We are learning a lot about this administration and about some of our congressional leaders right now. Many people say they are suffering from “voters’ remorse” as the true character, motivations, and actions of their elected officials come to light. Many of us voted for candidates who didn’t deliver on their promises, stand their ground, or live up to their claims.

We’ve learned our lesson.

I always invite the people I meet to ask me tough questions. I welcome it because I understand that voters need to rigorously vet those seeking their votes to avoid regrets later.  Voters are wary, and rightfully so, of what I call “Version 2.0” candidates.

A Version 2.0 candidate is one who launches a campaign or starts their term with one version of “This is who I am. This is what I think about the issues. These are my priorities. This is what I’ll do for the district,” but later shifts their positions, bios and narrative at the advice of a campaign consultant or due to negative public opinion. These candidates are attempting to rehab their image, creating a new and improved public perception.

They think the people will forget what they’ve said or done in the past. They think the people will be fooled into believing what they say now and dismiss past wrong-doing.These candidates underestimate you.

People know, now more than ever, that a candidate who so easily changes who they claim to be and what they claim to believe at the advice of a “handler,” doesn’t have the backbone to keep from folding under the pressure of special interest lobbyists. A Version 2.0 candidate does not have the integrity to keep from succumbing to DC arm twisting.

I am proud of what I have accomplished and I am proud to say I have not changed who I am or what I stand for – I am a constant.

I am a leader who will fight to create sustainable job growth in the private sector, reduce the size of government, uphold the Constitution, create an infrastructure of empowerment – not entitlement, and protect our nation from enemies foreign and domestic. I am proud to have the strength, courage and resolve to say “HELL NO” to special interest lobbyists.

There will be no revision of me.
