Many Americans are simply tired of the Dramatic Political Movie that is taking place in DC and I’m one of them. Quite frankly, the only nomination it would get in Hollywood is “Worst Picture”. There is no direction, no cooperation, no message and is extremely over budget. Not to mention the lack of music.
It doesn’t matter if you are Republican, Democrat or Independent – no one on the hill seems to focus on the issues. Instead it seems they have digressed into childhood fighting tactics and pointing fingers.
Here’s my opinion on all this hogwash – Focus on the Issues! The American People deserve more than what any of the elected officials are giving right now. We are digging a hole that our children and their children will have to deal with.
The current Health Care bill, at least yesterday’s version, is a mess and disaster. Our officials owe the American People more! Quit taking party lines, doing he said she said, locking each other out of rooms, etc., and fix the damn problem. The American People deserve more and should be demanding more! DC, you have the ability and the resources to fix our current National Health Care coverage plans, to expand them by creating efficiency and not adding cost, to create cross-state competition to drive down private insurance premiums, to regulate and protect the American People. What you have proposed and are working on is a failure and you know it. To simply stand and say “We need to pass Health Care Reform for the American People and we will do it!” is so misguided.
If our politicians care about the future of our Country and the American People, they will stop and say we need to start over and do it right.
A final thought for the day, beyond Health Care.
To openly disagree with President Obama is not being a racist and is your right. I have on numerous occasion, however, I still respect the office and the fact that President Obama is in fact the President of the United States.
A point to my fellow politico’s – When you remove the spotlight from the President and transition to issue, you essentially remove his celebrity status and power. Example – It’s not ObamaCare, it’s Health Care – and the Congress is messing it up. President Obama has not gotten his hands dirty. So don’t oppose ObamaCare, for which there is no such thing, oppose the current Health Care Reform bill.
Remove the spotlight and you may realize, that even though he has not been replaced or is not coming to the end of his tenure, there is a lame duck sitting in the White House.
Focus on the Congress, the Issues, and remove the Celebrity.
